The SIBF has elected a new president. He is Don Boykin. Mr. Boykin was elected after the former president Mrs Freda Matangi resigned citing personal reasons. An extra ordinary AGM was organized by FIBA Oceania Development Officer Ryan Burns to run the elections. The AGM also elected a new vice president, a position that has been vacant since the SIBF Congress in 2008.

Other members of the federation remain unchanged. Randy Hatigeva as treasurer, Jessie Konofilia as secretary with Moses Au and Moffat Maefilia as members.

Mr. Boykin was nominated by newly formed association D.Fenders Basketball Association and he was elected ahead of Eric Tawaniwai who then stood unopposed for the vice presidency.
